Nothing says spring in New York like a ferry ride to Governors Island to experience some public art. There, you can experience the latest architectural experience to grace the island, aptly titled Hills by West 8.
There you will find Cabin, a site-specific sculpture by Rachel Whiteread, part of the artist's continued exploration creating sculptures of negative spaces. Although the piece is permanent, Governors Island's visiting season is not, so scamper over there to check it out.
