The Artist's World
Fred W. McDarrah spent years in the 50s and 60s attending informal gatherings hosted by sculptor Philip Pavia, what would became known as 'The Club.' McDarrah eventually grew to become the doorman and keeper of the mailing list for the artist association, bringing along his camera and documenting attendees from Ad Reinhardt and Joan Mitchell to Stuart Davis and Jack Kerouac.
His photographs were published in a book titled The Artist's World in Pictures (1961). Over 150 vintage prints, including the originals from that book, are on display.
