Women of Marwencol

After incurring significant brain damage following an attack outside of a bar, Mark Hogancamp retreated to his backyard where he built a 1/6th scale WWII-era town called Marwencol as a way of coping with the trauma. Outfitted with tiny citizens, Marwencol became the setting for a series of photographs taken by Hogancamp, which were eventually discovered and thrust into the spotlight of the fine art world. A selection of earlier images from beginning of Marwencol will be shown along with new large-scale prints featuring life-size lady mannequins. A documentary (2010) of the origins of the project will be shown Saturday, November 15th.exhibit page
